Rathotsavam (Chariot Festival)
The Rathotsavam at Shri Henjeru Siddeshwara Swamy Temple is one of the most awaited annual events, celebrated with great devotion and grandeur. During this festival, the idol of Lord Siddeshwara Swamy is ceremoniously placed on a beautifully decorated wooden chariot, adorned with flowers, lights, and sacred cloth.
As the chariot is pulled through the streets by enthusiastic devotees, the air fills with chants of “Om Namah Shivaya” and the sound of temple drums and nadaswaram. Devotees from Andhra Pradesh and neighboring Karnataka gather in thousands to witness and participate in the procession, offering prayers and seeking blessings.
The festival symbolizes unity, devotion, and the movement of divine energy among the people. Special poojas, cultural programs, and Annadanam (community feast) are also organized, making it a spiritually uplifting and joyous occasion for all.
